Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water

½ teaspoon salt

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation:

Start by gathering your ingredients. Ensure your butter is softened and your eggs are at room temperature for easier mixing.

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Mix Butter and Sugars:

In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Add Eggs and Vanilla:

Beat in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Dissolve Baking Soda:

Dissolve the baking soda in 2 teaspoons of hot water. Add this mixture to your batter along with the salt.

Incorporate Dry Ingredients:

Gradually stir in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips and Walnuts:

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, mixing until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape and Bake:

Drop spoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. The spacing allows the cookies to spread out as they bake.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned.

Cooling:

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Storage or Serve:

Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh, or serve them immediately while they’re still warm and extra delicious.
